Poetry is my secret first love.

In a poem, everything belongs. A poem demands I tell it like it is, raw and unfiltered. A poem insists there is a much bigger payout if I don’t try to wrap life up with a pretty bow.

Something happens when I climb into this unconditional space, this permission to be fully as I am and tell it like it is. Whatever the content, if I bring as much honesty and tenderness as I can muster, I get tipped back into the light, back into softness and openness, back into presence.

A poem is a way to find God in all the places.
